I love circles and rounded edges to things.  I just do.  Especially with lampshades..it's the soothing glow they give.  x

One step at a time...

I'm just dying to be able to style someone's stairs!

Here at The Dandelion House we have yet to be able to focus on this one central element in a house with some real concentrated flair and imagination....Oooo it would be so lovely!!  There so many things you could do.  Mosaic is an option that looks beautiful if done carefully,  or sticking fantastic paper and varnishing it over or even just some amazingly delicious paint colours...The stairs are almost an alone feature in a house,  if you give them some thought they can be really stunning in their own right....I might try and plant the seed in a willing clients head and see what happens!  x

Just peachy!

I don't know about you but every so often I'm drawn to one colour/tone in particular.   For me right now I'm really meditating on peach. When this happens I go and look to find ways of getting that colour into my life but this dreamy colour can be tricky for me clothes wise and it's not generally a colour I would choose to paint on a wall...so what to do?!  x

Where treasures live...

Attics.  Just the word itself is lovely.  I always feel it is the most exciting room in a house.  It's where people store the parts of themselves that they don't need around them everyday but don't want to let go of.  Past lives and memories live there, all tucked away waiting to be found.  Often people over convert their loft spaces and make them into rooms that look like the rest of the house..plastering and carpeting etc but I think if you do that you're maybe loosing the whole magic of the room at the very top!  Where you can watch rain fall from the clouds and be away from the everyday world for a while...like a grownups treehouse....x
