Lights of tales and dreams....

"It's all in the lighting.." so they say....  And it's true, lighting is so vital in the conjuring up of feelings, thoughts and atmospheres.  I'm bound to do lots about lights on here over time but these examples are some favourites of mine.. ones that fill me with wonder and transport me to far off places, that tell stories all by themselves....x

...be sure to wear some flowers in your hair....

Such a beautiful day today!  We spent the afternoon picnicking in the park and climbing trees and when we left as the sun was fading,  I looked at my eldest daughter's hair (top pic) all covered in blossom from the tree she had been sitting in. This post was inspired by her.....x

This weekends window....

A ordinary window in a country house, transformed to let in maximum light with some rustic elegance. Using Georgian shutters, reclaimed wood and a delicately carved wooden panel from India,  all sourced and married together by The Dandelion House. x

Our latest before and after...

Above is a quick photo taken before we got to work

Today we say goodbye to the Winter. Time to get busy clearing out the cupboards, taking down the curtains and making room for that fresher, lighter feel of Spring!  x

Magnolia... rubbish paint colour... really beautiful tree. x

I was admiring one of these stunning trees this morning on the school run.  It was just coming into bloom and will look spectacular in about a week or so...also the smell they have is amazing and it's very elegant form...anyway it struck me how can such a beautiful tree be associated with such a dreary paint colour?  It's unfair,  so this is my pictorial ode to the.. MAGNOLIA. x

Uniquely, beautifully functional....

Ahh,  the satisfaction when you find a beautiful piece of furniture and transform it's use into something else could almost be my favourite part of interior styling.  Being resourceful and imaginative is the key to a certain feeling of creative well being for us....x
